Abstract art addresses ideas and feelings rather than objects. My work expresses the influences and experiences of my life. I invite viewers to explore their own responses to the work by looking within themselves.
I paint the emotional world of feelings carried inside. My work is a reflection of what I hold sacred and make visual. I wish to simplify and express a sense of movement and grace held in an atmosphere of space and light. Marks are carefully edited to maintain the prominence of the rhythm.
Memories become colored with time and redefined as truth. Each painting is an exploration of my memories and history. There is a tension between the sounds and the stillness that creates the rhythm, the dance, and the balance of life.
